Monday Travel Songs – Start Spreading the News and Begin to Be Apart of It!!!!!!

Welcome to Monday Travel Songs, where I post and share geographic songs from all over the world. In this week’s post, we’ll be travelling to New York City in America with a song you’ll recognise instantly. 🙂

Week Number Six – New York, New York by Frank Sinatra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KJQNMqVIug

About the Song

New York, New York is a theme song, sung by Frank Sinatra from the Martin Scorsese film of the same name. This song is composed by John Kander and the lyrics were written by Fred Ebb.

Recorded in 1979, Sinatra realised the single for his album, Trilogy: Past Present Future which was realised a year later. Even though it is a single, Sinatra occasionally performs the song as a duet with Liza Minnelli (who the song was originally written for).

Why Did I Choose This Song?

I choose this song because of it’s classic, catchy tune. It’s an ionic theme that makes me say to myself, “I want to go there” and “I’ll be there someday”. One day, I will go to New York and I’ll have a blast. 🙂

Monday Travel Song – Inner Beautiful Joy

Welcome to Monday Travel Songs, where I post and share geographic songs from all over the world. In this week’s post, we’ll be travelling to Serbia with a song I adore because of its beautiful lyrics.

Week Number Two – Ceo Svet Je Moj (Le Monde est a Moi/Beauty Never Lies) by Bojana Stamenov

The Song in Serbian French and English:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxJleRssy9k (French)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAAz2VbuORw (English)

About the Song

Beauty Never Lies was an entry for Serbia, in participation for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Although the country has a complicated relationship with the contest, this entry ended up being in the top ten in the results poll.

This song sends a message – that inner beauty is fantastic and we should celebrate it.

Why Did I Choose This Song?

When I first listened to the song on this year’s Eurovision contest (2015), this is one of the songs that I fell in love with. It’s inspirational, up-lifting and one that’ll make you smile when your feeling down. If you get the chance, I’ll recommend to listen (and a sing along) 🙂

Now, it’s over to you. What’s your favourite from Serbia and why? What part of the world would you like for me to go next Monday? Please let me know in the comments below. 😊

Travelling Places

This is a poem I wrote about my world map. In my room, I have a world map, where I have red and green sewing threads attached to the map (with blue tack). The green one represents where I’ve been and the red represents where I want to go. So, I was inspired to write about the places I want to travel.

I have nothing to say about this one, expect, enjoy. 🙂

Belgium,

Germany,

Monaco,

Spain,

Poland,

Italy,

Russia.

Egypt,

Africa,

India.

Australia,

New Zealand.

New York City,

Washington DC,

Florida,

Los Angeles.

Brazil,

Peru,

Mexico.

Want to go,

Want to do;

Someday, it’ll happen

And my dreams will come true.

In The Future

This was a poem I wrote last year (properly when I started writing, “Waiting For A Rainbow”). This is basically my poetic dream list of things I want to do in the future. I don’t these things will happen but I’ll guess I will wait and see. 🙂

In The Future

In the future,

I want to travel the world,

See all the landmarks

And embark on many adventures.

I want to fulfil my dreams,

My ambitions and goals;

I want to help children and animals,

As a volunteer, for a year.

I may find love,

Maybe raise a family;

I may teach my children how to love

And how to spread happiness for others.

I want to inspire young people

To go out and support their community,

To help other people

And to make a difference.
