Coming Out with Epilepsy

I never thought this video would see the light of day. In fact, I didn’t believe in myself to speak out about my diagnosis but now I have, I feel much better.

When I received my diagnosis seven months ago, I was just in my early stages of adulthood. College had finished for the Summer, I was on top of the world with my YouTube channel and I had a lot of plans for the future ahead. When I got the news, my life stopped. It was like whirling down a plug hole and I was the water. I could have done things but that put a spanner in the works. ūüėí

I didn’t know what to do or what to expect. ūüėě However, life seems to have taken me into a 50/50 turn. Sure, I have to have limits for the rest of my life but there are other ways to. After uploading my Story Time video, I began to see a positive side of things. This included:

  • Getting my life back on track
  • Finding alternatives to my health, academic and social lives
  • Raising awareness about Epilepsy
  • Finding new dreams

I really want to raise awareness and share my opinion on the matter. And now with help and support from my wonderful friends, I feel that I’m stronger than I was before. ūüėä

I don’t where the road lies ahead now but I feel like I’m on top of the world once again.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to everyone who for your support and encouragement at this time. I’m so lucky to have amazing friends in my life and I really couldn’t have done it without you. ūüėä ‚ú® ūüĆü

Life’s a journey but we’ll get there. Just believe and soon we’ll be there. ‚̧

2017 is Here: What Next?

‚ÄčHappy New Year, you wonderful readers. I hope you all had a wonderful day and night yesterday (or tonight, if you are out today).

I finally managed to upload my first video of 2017. If you want to check it out, I’ll leave the link for you here:

Now that’s done, what next? Christmas is done. Resolutions are done. And the excitement for January is done. What is the next direction?

Before 2017 came, I knew that I was going to be in for a roller coaster ride. A lot of changes will be in the works. My own journey to the river will be harder to cross and when it’s all over, that’s it for another year. Now, it’s here – I can help but notice that strange feeling. The sensation in my stomach. The butterflies flying around. Excitement or nerves? I honestly don’t know. All I can say is – think of today, never worry about tomorrow.
So far, I’ve been looking at options. I’ve been looking at future adventures, jobs even video content for my channel. It is crazy to think that for the first time, I’m preparing for the adult world. No more education (unless I choose to participate in another course) and no one making decisions on my behalf. It’s all up to me. If I’m going to be independent, I’m going to be brave.

Well, that’s all for now. Do you know any suggestions for our readers? What advice would you give them?

What are you looking forward to in 2017?

I’m sure, it’ll be an unforgettable year for all of us – but until then, keep smiling and dreaming.

New Year: New Me?

Guilty habits are one thing but busy habits are another. It has been a while since I’ve written a post but with my channel and studies, I just didn’t have enough time.

Looking back on 2016, I have seen that the world can be ugly – and understand how we are all afraid of things that don’t matter. We also fear of the things that do matter. Human mistakes and destruction have more authority than it has been. (In my opinion, at least.) However when there’s fear, there is hope. This a good opportunity for voices to be heard, to let not others be afraid and to give them courage. Change happens and we shouldn’t be brought down. We should be lifted up. ūüėä
I had many doubts and sadness this year but I had happiness too. On my YouTube channel, I’m nearly at 400 subs (as I recently celebrated my channel’s first birthday). I also started Twizola Designs – a little jewellery business – and a second blog for Twizola Designs. And making new friends. It has been a roller coaster but hey, doesn’t happen to all?

So, what’s next? 2017 is going to be a huge year for me. I’ll be officially graduating University in the summer and have ambitions to travel around the world. But, I also have other goals that I want to achieve too.

  • Still be active on my channel – and take it to new heights
  • Meet new friends
  • Be more social
  • Publish a novel
  • Meet (and possibly collab) with my favourite YouTubers
  • Star as a film extra
  • Dare to be and feel different

I’m not sure whether they will happen. If they do, then I’ll be the happiest person on earth.

That’s it from me – and for 2016. Are there any New Year’s Resolutions you want to achieve in 2017? And what’s your reflection on 2016? As always, leave your comments below. ūüėä

See you in the New Year.

Not the Real Site? Facts about the Tower of London

If you wish to watch my vlog of the Tower and Bridge, click here:

Every stone on this building, has seen it all. This isn’t History – these events really happened.

This quote, above, are the exact words from one guide, who’s also a Yeomen¬†Warder at the Tower. It’s a true statement that not only presents the History of the Tower of London, but of all the Historic Buildings in the world. It provides that History isn’t created by people – it is by all.

London is full of wondrous sites, including The Shard, The London Eye and Big Ben. But the Tower of London is my favourite landmark; to me, it’s the icing on the cake – there’s so much to explore and learn – facts and all. But what are the true facts of the Tower? And what isn’t?

The Internet can amazing, but sometimes, the facts you read can be incorrect. It may sound ridiculous, but this doesn’t affect me. What amazes me, however, are the facts that are spoken by word and/or written beside an artefact in a Historical Palace, House or Museum. And it’s a shame that everyone is being incorrectly taught; all wrongs can make a right, though. That is how this blog became to be.

There are many facts of the Tower, to which, I’ve learnt during my visit. However, I won’t include all; instead, I will include my favourites.

So, here are my favourite facts about the Tower of London:

  • As I mentioned in my vlog, the term Beefeaters (another name for the Warders) doesn’t originate from France at all! It’s not even in the French Dictionary. It’s an English word. But were did it come from? Well, turns out that there were several events (when the White Tower was a Royal Palace) when the sovereign went to bed, the guards would eat the leftover beef on their plate.
  • The site of the Executor’s Block – Tower Hill – is inaccurate! It was constructed by the Victorians, who got everything wrong. The real site is now where Tower Hill Tube Station stands.
  • The timber roof in the Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad Vincula was ordered to be constructed by Henry VIII for his first wife, Katherine of Aragon, so she could remember her homeland, back in Spain. This was before Henry broke from Rome and divorcing Katherine.
  • To be a Yeoman Warder, you have to be a former Warrant Officer – either in the Royal Navy, Army, Marines or Air Force – and must have worked in this position for at least twenty-two years.
  • The Warders call the Tower of London their home. With their families, they have their own homes, with all the living comforts of home. They also have entertainment, including a pub. But although they have everything, we mustn’t forget that the guards – men and women – are heroes who have bravely served their country.

Well, that’s all for now. If you want to go to the Tower of London,

Love at the Movies – My Top Five Favourite Click Flicks of All Time (By a 20’s Something Viewer)

Smug-married, simple singleton or a fan of romance, there’s something for everyone.

Click Flicks are a few of the film genres that I watch – since I’m frightened of horror and don’t care too much of Action (if there’s a lot of violence involved). They keep me glued to the screen; making me laugh, cry and smitten. But if it’s going to be this way, it has to be perfect. The storyline, the chemistry and the characters. For me, these movies have achieved that.

Anyway to shorten the introduction, here are my top five favourite click flicks of all time.

  • The Wedding Date (2005)

Single, broken-hearted and full of anxiety for her step-sister’s wedding, Kat Ellis hires a male escort to pose as her boyfriend. But a single act of revenge to make her ex-fianc√© jealous turns into something else and very soon, Kat learns that love isn’t always cracked up to be.

  • Bridget Jones’ Diary (2001)

British, thirty-something old and single, Bridget Jones decides to write a diary, in order to improve her life and find search for love – and all in one year.

  • Made of Honor (2008)

Womaniser Tom and his best friend, Hannah are irrseperable. Until a single trip to Scotland changes Hannah’s life. Engaged, Hannah asks Tom to be her Maid of Honour – and all this happened, just as Tom was about to declare his love for Hannah. So, Tom uses his position to win her over. But will he be Hannah’s real Mr Right?

  • Bride Wars (2009)

Two best friends Liv and Emma have been dreaming and planning their weddings since they were children. When their dreams become a reality, an error hangs in the balance. Now with their weddings birth on the same day, the battle is on to see who pull off the best wedding. But, will this competition cause a scar in their friendship?

  • Pretty Woman (1990)

A modern update on the classic fairy-tale story, Cinderella, Vivian a prostitute and Edward, a wealthy businessman meet each other, while Edward is on a business trip in L.A. When he hires Vivian to stay for the weekend, Edward and Vivian fall for each other, discover that love comes with hurdles and aim to bridge the gap between their worlds.
What’s your favourite Click Flick movie? Let me know in the comments below.

Sorry it’s a short post but I can’t of anything else at the moment. I’ll make it up next time. Anyway, that’s all for now. Until then, enjoy your day and keep on dreaming. ‚≠źÔłŹ

Goal Achieved?!

At the start of the New Year, I recorded a small video for what was to be my first collaboration! The video (put together and uploaded by a wonderfully talented YouTuber Deanishes) was about what was on a small YouTubers top bucket list item for 2016. To see, click here: I added a video to a @YouTube playlist Small Youtubers | BUCKET LIST COLLAB

Yep, my top bucket list item was to write a novel. But before this video was uploaded, I’ve done something unthinkable. I started writing the novel.

I’m not allowed to reveal it (under my own terms), but I can give away one hint: it is based on the fairytale Beauty and the Beast, which is one of my favourite fairytales.

I’m so excited about it, even though I have I only wrote five full chapters because I’m finally doing something that I love.

Sorry for the short post. I promise that I’ll update you when I can. Until then, keep dreaming and believing.

New Term, New Me

This week has been really busy. After returning to school with a first week of rehearsals, I’m now back rehearsing and studying. Honestly, I don’t know how I can keep up with myself. It can be hard when you are a student, a YouTuber and Blogger under one belt but once you get used to it, it’ll all be fine.

Since I have started again for the Spring term, I have decided to renew myself by scheduling a life plan. It was recommended to me by my Support Worker, after we discussed what targets I would like to achieve within the Next Year. Sounds like a good idea, but it’s not as easy as you think it might be. All it takes (normally) is courage and inspiration. To do that, all you have to do is open your inner self.

Life isn’t easy, nor is a personality change. And is taking the easy road the only option in everyone’s lifetime? In reality, it’s not because when you think about it, changing yourself can be a new self discovery. The world has available choices for us; to decide who we want to be and what we want during our lifetime. And they don’t call it a challenge for nothing. Most famous people we know had to face many challenges to get where they are today. So, why should we let our same, old selves get in the way of our dreams?

Although I am in the middle stage, I feel that I want to carry on and explore myself a bit more. Studying, fashion; you name it. And I want to share this journey with you.

So, here are my top new changes I want to do this year.

Read a Good, Commutative Self-Help Book

Already got it in the bag. ūüėČ At the moment, I’m reading Be Your Own Fairytale by Alison Davies, who helps readers gain their confidence, through fairytales. Very good, and highly recommend it especially if you are into fairytales.

Keep a Journal

Again, got it in the bag. I always keep a few journals, plus my blog.

Try to Reach Out of Your Comfort Zone

Going through this process, at the moment. But mostly in Drama school. I want to try and be the best I can be, by going out of my comfort zone.

Be Inspired

This aim is a tricky one. However, I’m trying to be inspired by reading. I’m keen to study characters who have silmar lives to me like Harriet from the Geek Girl Series and Penny from the Girl Online Series. Then with the situations they go through and how they deal with them, I can reflect mine and see how I can resolve them as well.

Write a Life Plan

Nearly finished on this one. Before I started, I found a very useful How To page by wikihow that gave advice on how to draw one up:

And I’ve never looked back.

Try to Be Honest About Myself

A work in progress.

A new me and a new start. An excellent progress if I do say so myself.

Now, it’s over to you. Are you looking to start any new targets? If so, what would you like to achieve and why? I would love to hear your aims for this year.

That’s all for now and don’t forget to look out for my YouTube channel and blog this February for new posts. ūüėÉ

The Present and Future: What’s Next for 2016?

Wow! How long has it been since I wrote a post??? I guess I haven’t been paying much attention to my blog¬†lately. (Naughty, Sez!) How was your¬†Christmas?

Since Halloween, I’ve been busy with Drama school, YouTube and Christmas. Now with the New Year on the way, it feels like that time has whizzed by rather than flown by.¬†And with New Year comes New Year’s Resolutions and Best Highlights.

For me, I believe that 2015 was the stepping stone; with surprises and smiles around every corner. I was overwhelmed by your generosity, kindness and huge support. I humbly thank you all and raise my glass to you, whither it you are a creative blogger or a brave vlogger.

I have many fond memories of each year; they remind me of roller coaster rides and/or paths, when you are choosing to take different routes in your life. Some include surprises and moments, where you ask yourself, “did that just happen?” And it all started, while I was getting over a¬†spilt with someone (but, we never went far; we were never boyfriend or girlfriend. Just so you know).

actingmylife was mind-blowing, it was exciting and I don’t want to ever give my channel or blog up. It has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made; and I don’t¬†regret¬†it.

My highlights of this year (2015) are:

  • Celebrating¬†my first¬†anniversary¬†of the actingmylife blog: It’s certainly hard to believe it’s been a year since I set up my blog, but little did I know that something else was coming my way.
  • Starting my own YouTube channel: I honestly never dreamt of setting a vlogging channel. And with nearly thirty subscribers in one year, that’s a achievement. I am so proud that I choose to do this because I enjoy every moment of it.
  • Christmas: Christmas (even though it’s the¬†busiest) is one of my favourite times of the year. I love seeing family, watch television and performing. During the festive period, I perform Christmas shows with all my teachers, classmates and friends in front of an audience, including friends and family. Every year, we put on amazing shows; this year however, is my favourite because it is unique and magical. Every time I do a show and come out of the stage door, I see many huge smilies. My heart melts so much and I can’t help but smile back, because for me, Christmas is about giving something back in return. So with me and the cast performing, we’re giving back our experiences and great entertainment to all.

That’s all for the highlights, let’s move on to the resolutions and YouTube Aims for 2016:

New Year’s¬†Resolutions

  • Try and stay on top everything, i.e. homework: it’s hard to keep up with everything – it’s a top resolution I put down every year
  • Set¬†schedule dates for my YouTube channel: I really need to complete this resolution, otherwise I won’t know what days I’ll post videos
  • Do yoga once a week: I’ve done yoga many years go, as a child. But, I gave up. I want to start again, as I may need it as a de-stress booster
  • Do piano once a week: Again, I’ve practised years ago, but stopped because of Drama school. I want to start again, since I want to try and record videos of me singing. A little bit out of my comfort zone, though. Eek…
  • Plan and enjoy a long summer holiday: I graduate my Foundation Degree course in the summer and when I have a long summer, I get easily bored and want to explore (as many young people d0). So, I’m going look around and try to plan what I want to go and/or try. And who knows, I may go somewhere that I have never imagined going too.
  • Make 2016 an excellent year: just¬†because. ūüėČ

  • Do¬†YouTube¬†Collaborations: I’ve always wanted to do collaborations with many¬†YouTuber’s. I dream for my collaboration videos to be inclusive and¬†welcoming, because, I believe that it’s the way that the world should be.
  • Go to Summer in the City: I’m really hoping to go; I heard it’s tons of fun!
  • To Anywhere, with my Channel: whither it’s on a film set or a hosting a film¬†premi√®re, I dream that actingmylife¬†will travel, to undiscovered places and amazing adventures.

Well, that’s all for now. I hope everyone has amazing New Year.

Blogging Blessing and Revealing

It’s been ten and a half months since I’ve started this blog and I am overwhelmed with happiness about how far I’ve come.

Since I’ve started actingmylife, I’ve never dreamt of having so many wonderful viewers, reading my posts from all over the world. And it means a lot to me. I cannot thank you enough for all your wonderful support and enthusiasm. ūüėä

But, I going to be honest with myself. My name isn’t really Georgina Latimer; I only used that name to hide the real me. However, I have never lied about my personality, interests, and beliefs; I didn’t want to be open until the time was right. In mind, I feel it is now. As you read this, I am taking the most important step of my life.

My real name is Sez. It is a very unusual name, but it is who I am.

Although I am open to myself and the world around me, I understand that people maybe to quick to judge about me. And the truth is that no one, not even my friends outside my blog really know me. They don’t know what my private life is when I’m off line or what I get up when I spend time alone. I’m just a normal, young adult who’s trying to achieve a degree and working hard to create a happier life.

With my Waiting For A Rainbow posts, I know that I can fully express my feelings on the constant struggles and triumphs. Being Autistic is really hard and trying to please, teach and socialise can be a tough and an emotional experience. But the truth is, I am lucky and blessed to be here. I think the real reason for coming here is to spread the word about Autism, through the life I have. Sometimes, life can take an unexpected toll. And at other times, it can push you to a working level. But I remember one thing about the world – it’s just mixed up. We’re all different, we’re all unique and we’re all afraid. Afraid to be ourselves. Afraid to please everyone. And afraid to change.

My heart is constantly beating fast, as I’m writing this, but I know I must be brave. I feel revealing me is meant to be and I’m not done yet. ūüėČ

You will be seeing and hearing a lot of me because this is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. And in the words of Sydney Bertram Carter’s song, One More Step Along the World I Go:

And it’s from the old,

I travel to the new,

Keeping me travelling along with you.

Sez aka Georgina Latimer. Xxxx

Okay, so you may be wondering – why the sudden change in¬†attitude?¬†¬†It’s down to a couple of changes made during these past two weeks.

The first thing that happened was participating in an actual Open Mic Night. After my sadness over the Blue Tea Rose situation, my Dad suggested that I should try and sing on stage. And that’s what I did – and to my delight, the band, and Dad, were playing, and singing with me while the entire audience (including my Mum) were cheering and singing along. I couldn’t have been happier, than to have shared the spotlight again with the most wonderful people on earth.

Song #1: Bitch by Meredith Brooks:

Song #2: Valerie by Amy Winehouse & Mark Ronson:

These were the songs I sang at the Open Mic Night. ūüėȬ†

The second thing was my life, over my online dating. However, I’m not going to tell you what it is because a) it’s a surprise and b) I need to be sure before I can say what it is; it’s still in the early stages and I don’t feel I’m ready to¬†announce this news to the world (yet).

The last thing was¬†Kat’s surprise return.

This week, Kat text me to say (too my delight) that she was staying in the city for the weekend. So, we met up today, having coffee and then, shopping! We really missed each other and didn’t want to be apart. Kat’s going back tomorrow; however, she’ll be back in two weeks. So, it won’t be long before we’ll be partying again. ūüôā

All of these wonderful gifts have got me thinking – surprises can happen, in a way that you may not expect. I feel like I am the luckiest woman in the universe right now. And as I am preparing to start a new year at Drama school, I pray and¬†politely ask to the Universe to help me achieve my dreams and to make them a¬†reality. I’m opening up to anything and¬†possibility¬†that special someone…

Song #3: Fight Song by Rachel Platten:

I am taking back my life – in a whole new direction. ūüôā
