YT.I.I #1: The Clueless 2

Welcome to the first edition of YT.I.I, where we be interviewing international YouTubers from around the globe.

Today, we’ll be interviewing Marie of Matt and Marie from The Clueless 2. Small YouTubers from the UK, she (and Matt) discuss what it’s like to be YouTubers’ and how difficult it is to manage a channel.

1) How did The Clueless 2 came to be? What inspired you to start?

Both me and matty watch youtube videos, its like a religion. Anything goes we literally enjoy most content on YouTube. When we finally decided that YouTube was something we wanted to do; coming up with a name was the most hardest part. We were thinking just our names and the list went on and on. It want until we sat there and was both like ‘we are just so clueless!’ and that was it the clueless 2 came around.

2) Whose idea was it to start The Clueless 2?

It was both of ours. Matty had already had a youtube YouTube channel but life had taken over and he couldn’t keep it up. I told him back in June that YouTube was something I was considering because he really enjoyed it and I thought I would too. We then decided to join together and be 1 channel.

3) Did this experience had a positive or a negative impact on you?

A big positive impact, we have met a lot of lovely people so far and have really enjoyed making a YouTube family. We are soon going to be hitting 1 month on YouTube and we love it. There has not been any negative vibes so far and we are glad.

4) Ok, trivial question. Do you prefer individual or collaboration filming?

Well considering we have only done 1 collab; I would say we do really enjoy it. The collab was with my brother and it was a challenge between him and Matthew. I think it makes a change and it is fun to bring others on to YouTube.

5) The biggest challenge you’ve ever faced?

The biggest challenge so far I don’t think has happened yet. Luckily everything is going very smooth; we have learnt how to edit videos and make thumbnails. The main challenge I guess right now is our blog but even so, I love making it our own.

6) Any favourite videos of your own?

My fav was our introduction – I don’t know why but we both had fun filming it and it was so scary to post online for the first time.

7) Inspiration for your channel?

There are so many YouTubers who helped inspire us mainly the lovely Zoella and Alfie Dyes; we really enjoy watching them. We would love if they would do a couples challenge with us (I know its very high hoping). Not only that but we like the idea that we can make our own content and have a good time.

8) Who are your favourite YouTubers?

I guessed I just answered this but there is such a mix like Alfie, Marcus Butler, JJ, Comedy Shorts Gaming, Sprinkle of Glitter and a bunch of small YouTubers.

9) What can do see yourself doing in five years time?

In 5 years, I would like to have YouTube as a full career. We have decided that we would also make some more channels and move on to day to day vlogging. We would also want our own office by this point.

10) Is there any advice you would like to give for anyone who is starting a channel of their own?

I think this is one of the most important questions; it was hard making a youtube channel, some people think you only make videos and smash them online. this isn’t the case, you must make sure that you don’t break any laws and also making sure you get your self promoting on. We were so dare I say Clueless that it has been a massive learning curve. We wouldn’t change it. If you plan to do something than do it and if you are debating YouTube, do it. There is no harm to try and get out there and have the best time while online. We wouldn’t change a thing and if anyone ever wanted our help or advise we would love to help them out.

A massive thank you to Marie and Matt. If you want to check out their channel, click here: The Clueless 2.
