Welcome to my first Nomination Wednesday post, where we take a look on the people who have inspired everyone around the world.
This week’s nomination goes to Zoe Sugg, a.k.a. Zoella – YouTuber sensation, English fashion icon, author and beauty vlogger.
When she started her blog “Zoella” in February 2009, Zoe was working as an apprentice for interior design company. Since then, her blog (as of March 2014) reached a total of 140 million visits. Then, her blog turned into a YouTube channel and it has been running ever since. Her main YouTube channel, however, has reached 7 million subscribes (as of January 2015; more is still to come). Along the way, she has done many collaborations on her channel with other YouTubers including Louise Pentland, Tanya Burr, Alfie Deyes, Tyler Oakley and her brother, Joe Sugg (and by the way, he’s not a daily vlogger).
In 2014, she published her debut novel, Girl Online, which became fastest selling book of 2014, reaching an amazing total 78,109 copies! Her next novel, Girl Online: Girl On Tour will be released in October 2015.
Zoe has also appeared on television, such as Loose Women and the Band Aid 30 music video, “Do They Know It’s Christmas”.
And we mustn’t her wonderful beauty products Zoella Beauty, which became “biggest beauty launch of the year”, according to the Metro.
Why Did I Nominate Zoella?
I’ve been a fan of Zoe, since last year. I was going through a difficult time, following heart break and social neglect by many of my friends. So the only option was to watch YouTube – then, along comes Zoella. In time, I was beginning to fall in love with her videos, especially ones with her so cute pug, Nala. But it was her beautiful, creative novel that made me love Zoe ever more. Plus, it was the book that everyone was talking about; while I was reading it, most of my peers would ask, ‘What are you reading’? Or ‘How are you finding it?’ Although it may not improved my friendships, I can say that Girl Online has made want to read a lot more books and write too. I really cannot wait for Girl On Tour.
She’s also an inspiration for children, teenagers and young adults everywhere. She’s charitable, kind and fun. Zoe should be proud of herself because she makes everyone’s day, like a rainbow shining in the sky.
Zoe, if you are reading this, I want to say, “thank you” and don’t stop believing. 😊
